Black sails

Stunning black white colourfield painting with magnificent use of red and yellow. Although both colours are just slightly visible – yellow in particular – these are the colour that catches the eye right away. Between the black and white these colours, sometimes even a hint of blue, come to the surface. The bright colours have been applied before the black and white. Thereafter the paint has been smeared out again with a palette knife (my favourite). Because of this the colours blend and beautiful patterns emerge. Important here is that the first layer still is wet so that these colours too find their way up to the surface and blend with the black and white.
